" Pissarro is close to Seurat in La Grande Jatte but less moderate by virtue of his insistence on rendering the method plain, obvious, even crude." Martha Ward, "Pissaro, Neo-impressionism, and the Spaces of the Avante-Garde," P. 77
I think, contrary to popular belief, the greatest compliment that can be paid my work by non artists is to feel, "I could do that." JVK

Of late there has been a great deal of enthusiasm in the contemporary Art world due in great part to the eminent victory of Barack Obama and the democratic party in the coming US election.
Marjorie Garber (Harvard) and Glenn Weiss have each made excited comments that the sensational demise of the work known as "Tilted Arc," would never happen again. While I too am excited with the prospect of change from the disasterous policies of the past 8 years. I would add that the impulse for change ripe in the populace includes a change in the Arts Managers from those of the present and past (including Ms Garber and Mr. Weiss) who have been promoting mostly the market-driven derivatives of Post-Modern Art theory.
Carefull what you wish for Mr. Weiss change is about to wash you away.
